Bahrain has a growing number of public urban parks where you can enjoy the outdoors. There are places for many activities, for all ages. They are perfect for a family fun day out with a picnic, or simply a healthy stroll. Most parks have plenty of shaded areas, and some are packed with greenery. They are often cooler than the vicinity, and therefore very pleasant. They are beautiful places to catch up on reading or just chat with friends. Many have children playgrounds and even (free) playing fields. The facilities available in each park vary, and this application helps you plan the visits according to your interests.

Bahrain Parks is a project that aims at enriching the environment in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

- Database of relevant environmental information relating to public parks
- Design characteristics;
- Measured, categorized, usage;
- Stated preferences (user ratings).
- Design characteristics;
- Cloud platform that leverages data to information that planners and designers can incorporate in the creations and redevelopment.
Social media efforts to publicize the parks and stimulate their use.
The documentation presented below refers to the platform, a web application.

| Date_Open | Year of opening to the public, or latest major works. |

| Food_Bev | Are there any food and beverage commercial facilities within 2 min walk? |
| Governorate | Governorate in which it is located. |
| lat | Latitude (WGS84). |
| Location | Name of place in which it is located. |

| Name | Official denomination of the park. |
| Picnic_Area_m2 | Area of picnic component in square meters. |

| T_Access_Private | (T for transportation.) Can the park be accessed by private mode of transportation, such as car? (Yes-No) Implies adequate parking within 2 min walk. |
| T_Access_Public | (T for transportation.) Can the park be accessed by public mode of transportation, such as Bus? (Yes-No) (Bus stop with regular daily service within 2 min walk?) |
| Walk_Length_m | Length of walking facility in meters. |
| WC | Are there W.C. facilities wthin 2 min walk? |

Motivation
The project reflects the interest of the College of Engineering, University of Bahrain, on the built environment of the country.
The web application is developed in house at University of Bahrain, by a team of researchers and students.
